The worst part is that the car is smart enough to be creative with touch controls and submenus, but not smart enough to automatically and reliably turn on the defroster when needed.

Is auto-defrost such a hard problem for a company that pretends to make self driving cars? Maybe it is, but if that's the case, don't make life harder on the driver by hiding the controls.
